Hings moves to second round
Change in attitude. That is, perhaps, the best thing many noticed in Martina Hingis after she won her first match in India in the Sunfeast Open in Kolkata against Melinda Czink, 6-1, 6-2. Change of heartEarlier, the ‘sharp tongued’ Martina had her enemies in the Williams-sisters. But in Kolkata, the former number one Swiss ‘Spice girl’ (said to be so because of her doubles partner in Anna Kournikova) was all praise for Venus and Serena ‘for making the game more athletic with their power-packed strokes’ and ‘sense of the game’. “It all began with Martina Navratilova. Then it was Steffi and then the Williams sisters really took it to another level”, she said. And she is trying to change her game. “I want to improve my service and volleys. Those are the areas.”
